I was asked by Glen Mulcahy to speak at the MoJoFest 2018 – a Mobile Journalism Conference in Ireland about livestreaming. After thinking back and forth if I should do it – because this would be my first time as a speaker – I confirmed my participation and I´m very happy I did take this chance. I had no idea what perfectly organized 3-days event I can expect. Getting many insights from experts talking about mobile live productions, social livestreaming, VR/AR, the latest gadgets etc. and meet very talented attendees and media personalities and enjoying a beautiful irish city.
Am I a MoJo or MoBro or even a MoLiBro?
The Mobile Journalism Conference exists since 2015 ran by Glen Mulcahy for RTÉ (an irish tv broadcaster). Once a year Mobile Journalists, Content Creators, Marketers, PR Managers and Advertisers coming together for a 3-days event in Ireland sharing their knowledge and experiences at various panels and workshops. This year MoJoCon was renamed to MoJoFest. It still has the same concept, the same organization team around Glen Mulcahy and the support of RTÉ.
From May 29th -31st, 400 attendees and 55 speakers took part in the MoJoFest 2018 in Galway Ireland. There were daily 4 panels and 5 workshops with topics like; Smartphone Photography, Mobile Filmmaking, Storytelling, Vlogging/Influencer Marketing, Instagram vs Snapchat, Content Marketing, Mobile Journalism Roadmap, Live Streaming and 360/VR/AR.
My 3 MoJofest panelist partners were:

Peter Stewart – „The Live Guy“ from London, UK; author of the world’s first book on live-streaming, has worked for the BBC and commercial broadcasters for 30 years, is currently a digital and social media producer, and is the author of several other books on media production and journalism

My presentation at MoJoFest 2018
At the panel „Mobile Livestreaming… where to now?“ I spoke about social livestreaming with a focus on Periscope. I presented some exciting features and best cases of Periscope and social livestreaming in general. Furthermore I showed some international livestreaming trends with a view to the China livestreaming market. The feedback afterwards was very positive. The audience had no idea what useful and unique features Periscope is offering to its users. Also you can find the feedback in posts on Twitter below.
Periscope is a sleeping Giant, powerful but under-advertised.
A big thank you to our panel moderator Krishna De who did an amazing job. Krishna is a digital communications strategist and social media marketing speaker, commentator, educator and mentor and is a judge of numerous leading digital marketing awards.
