Beside the excitement of the 4 day Periscope Summit in February 2016 in San Francisco and non-stop networking, I extended my stay to explore the city where you have to make sure to wear flowers in your hair. And of course I broadcasted the best moments live on Periscope and shared it with all my followers worldwide.
It was the first time I was in that breathtaking city and besides all the rain, wind and some cold days – ok, there were some days where the sun came out – I used every day to discover the beauty of San Francisco and visited some top spots in the surrounding area.
San Francisco is a city where people are never more abroad than when they are at home.
Basically you can find everything in San Francisco within walking distance, especially the north side with the most popular tourists spots that are not too far away – BUT, there is always something… meaning there are hilly, veeeeerrrry hilly streets – and Ta-Dah! – the plan to discover San Francisco on foot was cancelled after I had to roll my luggage 30 meters uphill to my Airbnb home. Luckily, there is a very good public transportation system in “San Fran“ and who doesn´t ever wanted to ride the historic cable car or one of the cool and brash-coloured retro trams.
I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO
My top spots I visited: the Sutro Baths, Twin Peaks, Russian Hill, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman´s Wharf, Alcatraz, Yosemite National Park (ok, it´s not located in the closer San Fran area), Muir Woods, the Lucasfilm Headquarters and the house of Mrs. Doubtfire.
